Copying and Downloading Markers or Strata Information
You can copy complete Production Management markers or Asset Management segments (timecode and text) to the system clipboard and paste them into another application. The copy and download options described below are available both in List and Card view.
The Storyboard tab lets you also download a list of markers or stratum information:
• All markers of all tracks or only selected markers of the track shown in the Storyboard tab.
• Information of all segments of all strata or only information of selected segments of the stratum shown in the Storyboard tab.
You can select one of the following formats for downloading:
• Plain text file (.txt) that lists the timecode and text for each marker or segment.
• A tab-delimited text file (.txt) that you can import into Media Composer or another Avid editing application. For more information, see the documentation for the Avid editing application.
• CSV (comma-separated value) file that you can open as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
• XML file for use in other applications.
To copy one or more markers/segment as text to the clipboard:
1. Select one or more markers or segments. You can use the mouse or keyboard to select multiple markers or segments:
- Select a marker or segment, then press Shift+Up Arrow or Shift+Down Arrow to select a range.
- Select a marker or segment, then press Shift+click to select a range or Ctrl+click to select individual markers or segments.
2. Do one of the following:
Click the Copy to Clipboard button.
Press Ctrl+C.
You can then use Ctrl+V to paste the asset name, timecode and text to another document or application.
To download marker/strata information as a file:
1. (Option) To only download a sub-set of marker or strata information, select a track or stratum from the layer selector and do one or both of the following:
Apply a filter to the selected layer.
Select individual markers in the markers list or segments in the segments list.
2. Click the Download button.
The Download dialog box opens.
3. Type a file name. You do not need to add an extension. By default, the asset name is shown in the File Name field.
4. Select the type of file you want to export: Plain Text, Media Composer Text, CSV, or XML.
5. Select the Include Restrictions check box if you want to download restriction information. If the asset does not contain restrictions, the check box is disabled.
6. (Production Management assets only) Select the Combine Marker Layers check box to show the downloaded markers sorted across tracks based on the current column sorting (for example, all markers sorted by frame number across all tracks).
If you let the check box deselected, the downloaded markers will be sorted based on the current column sorting separately for each track (for example, first all markers sorted by frame number for track V1, then all markers sorted by frame number for track A1).
Restrictions are always shown in a separate section below the markers in the downloaded file.
7. Do one of the following:
Click Download All to download all markers of all tracks or all segments of all strata.
Click Download Selected to download only the filtered and/or selected markers of the track or only the filtered and/or selected segments of the stratum shown in the Storyboard tab.
The file is saved to your default download folder.
